The "Rumble in the Archive" project
What role did the "Zurich Ethnographic Collection" play in colonial trade? What strategies for reparation and healing exist in the face of the racist violence of "human zoos"? Or what might an Afropean guild house in Zurich look like?
"Rumble in the Archive" is not an exhibition, but a space for archiving, learning and encounter that challenges power structures, designed by invited residents from the arts, academia and civil society together with guest curator and social anthropologist Rohit Jain and the museum team.
Over the coming months, a new, polyphonic archive on Zurich’s colonial history and postcolonial present will take shape. BIPoC communities and the public are invited to develop new visions for a postcolonial Zurich – so, get ready to rumble!

Das Museum ist durchgehend rollstuhlgängig. Für die Benutzung des Lifts wenden Sie sich bitte an den Empfang. Im Untergeschoss befindet sich eine Toilette für Menschen mit Beeinträchtigung, die ebenfalls mit Hilfe des Lifts erreicht werden kann.
Parkplatz
Das Völkerkundemuseum bietet grundsätzlich keine Parkplätze an. Menschen mit Beeinträchtigungen dürfen jedoch direkt vor dem Museumseingang parkieren. Hierzu ist eine telefonische Anmeldung erforderlich, weil das Eingangstor zeitgerecht aufgeschlossen werden muss.
