The Saudade programme includes works by Spanish, Brazilian and Argentinian composers such as de Falla, Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla and Sarasate, whose music captures nostalgia and longing. Sarasate and de Falla integrated folk sounds into pieces such as Romanza Andaluza and Caprice Basque as well as the suite Siete canciones populares españolas, which shows different emotional worlds. Villa-Lobos' Sonata-Fantasia No. 1 reflects the complexity of Brazilian music. Piazzolla's Histoire du Tango tells the story of the tango. The concert concludes with Skoryk's Spanish Dance, which transports you to a land of longing with its fiery rhythm and oriental melody.
