PREMIERE: Two teenage sisters constantly challenge each other with new tasks and tests of courage until the younger one tries to break free. In actress Ariane Labed's moving directorial debut, "Greek Weird Wave" meets "Britishness".
The sisters July and September are inseparable, albeit very different. While July is curious about the world, September is rather suspicious of others. When September is expelled from school, July is suddenly on her own and begins to assert her own independence - something that does not escape September's notice. When they seek refuge in an old holiday home in Ireland together with their mother Sheela, tensions grow between the three unequal women.
With a cool, timeless look, French-Greek actress Ariane Labed (ATTENBERG, THE LOBSTER) paints an intimate portrait of two sisters in her captivating directorial debut. Their relationship is characterised by deep connection, control and conflict as they face family challenges and unexpected twists and turns.
