Further information: Salsa! No other dance has enjoyed such a steep success curve in recent years. Salsa awakens longings for the Caribbean and radiates true joie de vivre. Salsa is danced in pairs. One partner leads, the other is led. We mainly teach courses in the Cuban style, Salsa Cubana, which has its origins in Cuba. Cuban salsa is playful, rhythmic and lively and is made up of different Latin American rhythms and dances. The main feature of the Cuban style is the couple's turns around a common centre and the core of Salsa Cubana, the Rueda de Casino. The name Rueda comes from the fact that all the couples involved form a circle, each dancing the same figures in synchronisation. The rueda, or wheel, rotates as a result of the partner changes that are part of the danced figures. The course for complete beginners or for people who still feel unsure about the basic elements.
