Fotostiftung Schweiz (Swiss Foundation for Photography), established in 1971, is committed to the preservation of photographic works, including research and promotion. On behalf of the Federal Office of Culture, it maintains around 100 archives or partial archives of outstanding photographers and a comprehensive collection on Swiss photography. Its exhibitions and publications present historical and contemporary positions. Together with Fotomuseum Winterthur, it runs an international centre for photography.
