Helmhaus

The Helmhaus Zurich is located in the middle of the city of Zurich opposite the Stadthaus and next to the Grossmünster on the Limmat. The Helmhaus shows contemporary art created in the lively Swiss art scene. Special attention is paid to the local Zurich scene. As a rule, five exhibitions are staged in the course of a year: Individual, group and thematic exhibitions. Around one hundred artists present their works. The whole variety of artistic media and all generations are represented. Every year, artists present the works with which they apply for residencies in the City of Zurich's studios abroad as well as for scholarships. Books are produced for many of the exhibitions, deepening their contents and embedding them in an international context. With guided tours and workshops for adults and also for children, the Helmhaus builds bridges to the public. Exceptional concerts at every exhibition attract music lovers. Discussions, artist talks, readings, film screenings and book anniversaries also provide visitors with further content.
