This evening explores the legacy of the great soul music shaped by female voices. What path did the Soul Sisters of yesteryear pave? Where did their boundless energy flow – energy that, in the early days, drew directly from gospel music? Through which trends, fashions and upheavals have they set standards that endure to this day? As they journey through the decades, Fabienne Louves, Freda Goodlett, Nyssina/Tyssa Montemouhin and Alina Amuri, accompanied by the Rigiblick Band, set off a fireworks display of milestones, global hits and hidden gems that are well worth rediscovering. It quickly becomes clear why songs such as ‘Killing Me Softly With His Song’, ‘I Will Survive’ and ‘I Can’t Stand The Rain’ have lost none of their former radiance and danceable energy, and shine even brighter than before in the Rigiblick spotlight.
