The almost legendary high-energy duo, which has existed since 2005, primarily plays fast, but always loud and virtuoso music. Inspired by technical death metal, AZEOTROP approaches this musical energy through improvisation and unusual instrumentation. Zumthor and Blum's shortest splinter compositions, so-called "jingles", flash up the metal genre only to immediately throw it overboard again. The interplay between Blum and Zumthor is at such an impressive level that even in the craziest chaos, every note seems to be intended and meant together.

AZEOTROP is lustfully wild and energetic. A frenetic statement for music at the greatest possible distance from the mainstream. Azeotrop has performed at numerous festivals such as Nozart Cologne, Uncool Poschiavo, Biennale Bielefeld or Tonart Hellerau and has released the composition "Bock" by Felix Profos on vinyl. Silent film soundtracks such as the film "The Strike" round off the duo's background (IOIC Zurich).

A newly formed trio with an unusual line-up performs its first concert. The well-known piano and percussion duo Kappeler/Zumthor reduce their instruments to six gongs and bring in Martina Berther, who rubs the gongs rather than hitting them. The instruments begin to sing, hum, drone and scream. The electric bass joins this ancient, acoustic world as a kind of binding agent and ground. The result is a calmly breathing music of earthy beauty. In praise of the shadow. A new, poetic kind of drone music.
