Two similar
Music ranging from Romani melodies to klezmer, from musette to tarantella, as well as their own compositions.
In the Simili duo, Juliette Du Pasquier and Marc Hänsenberger distil the music of Musique Simili down to its essence:
Unamplified, close to the audience and with a powerful stage presence, they create a musical dialogue that thrives on the moment.
The two musicians move between Romani melodies, klezmer, musette, tarantella and their own compositions. Their music is at times dance-like and driving, at times calm and melancholic – always immediate, lively and subtly nuanced.
In the duo, their joy in playing comes across particularly clearly: Juliette Du Pasquier and Marc Hänsenberger respond to one another, to the space and to the mood of the audience. This creates an open sonic space that fosters a sense of closeness and makes every concert a unique encounter in its own right.
Juliette Du Pasquier, strings
She transforms emotions into great music and, through music, evokes great emotions – always with a keen sense of what lies between the notes.
Marc Hänsenberger, keys
Switching effortlessly between the stationary piano and the mobile
accordion, he creates a wholly unique, opulent world of sound without boundaries.
Doors open: 7.30 pm
