Curators’ Café – Egg Stories: x out of 165,000 objects
How do we preserve eggs and birds’ nests in the collection? What challenges arise when it comes to taxidermy and pest control for this collection? These are the questions our curators face in their day-to-day work – and you can join in the discussion.
In the cosy setting of the ‘Boost Bar’, the curator and taxidermist will explain how they handle eggs and birds’ nests. You’ll have the chance to chat directly with those in charge: ask questions, learn the background and gain new perspectives. In keeping with the current temporary exhibition ‘Chickens – Underestimated Poultry’, the focus this time is on birds.
A fascinating glimpse into the hidden stories of a major collection – direct, personal and open to your curiosity.
With Sabrina Schnurrenberger, Biology Curator, and Claire Gohard, Zoological Taxidermist
