ON THE MOON
Shrouded in stories, the Moon has so far belonged only to dreamers – and to itself. But what if humans land on the Moon again, if it is conquered and permanently inhabited – will humans own the Moon in the future?
Three performers and a musician embark on a visually rich journey into space, exploring unusual utopian visions of the future that blur the lines between fact and fantasy. Using the moon as an example, the piece raises questions of ownership and territorial claims, whilst reflecting on how humans interact with their environment.
ON THE MOON is a production by Cie. Youkali for young audiences: the project combines the performing arts with scientific content. Taking an interdisciplinary approach with aerial acrobatics, dance, physical theatre and live sound, complex questions are conveyed in a physical, playful and interactive way.
School performances
On 26 and 27 October at 10:00, there will be school performances of ON THE MOON. Bookings for the school performances can be made directly via Schule+Kultur and schulkultur.
