Electronic Music Series
The concerts usually take place on the third Friday of every month and offer visitors a 30-minute solo set by a different Swiss sound artist during their lunch break. The musical focus is on meditative, ethereal genres such as ambient and drone music.
Moving between structured composition and improvisation, Diego Kohn explores the sonic possibilities of the viola in combination with electroacoustic transformations. Building on the instrument’s harmonic spectrum, slowly evolving sound structures emerge in which microtonal relationships, timbres and resonances gradually shift.
At the heart of this is a direct dialogue between sound, space and perception: Acoustic and electronically generated sounds overlap, unfolding resonances within the space and opening up new harmonic relationships. The musical form emerges from the interplay between compositional vision, situational perception and spontaneous decision-making.
