Chris Wiesendanger, one of this country’s most versatile pianists and composers, with a surprisingly wide-ranging repertoire, joins forces with the most fantastic of all fantastic rhythm sections: John Edwards and Mark Sanders. All three perform in a wide range of creative contexts, in which they combine their love of free improvisation with structure and composition – free from stylistic blinders. At this summit meeting, the highest level of virtuosity meets playful wit. Being attentive, listening to one another – where is this heading? And then navigating rapidly shifting moods together.
