Theatre highlights in summer 2023

The LAB crawls across the stage at the Gessnerallee for three final performances at the beginning of July. A group of young people explores human coexistence with inspiration from the diverse world of insects.

The last performance of Simply the End of the World is running at the Schauspielhaus Zurich. A touching production about family, dealing with illness and returning to the past.

For the brave or simply those interested, there will once again be an Open Stag at Millers. On stage are Finta* people from all fields of art

Experience a scenic guided tour of medieval history by machTheater. Among other things, the Ritterhaus Bubikon will focus on medieval dress codes and coloured clothing as a status symbol, and will draw humorous parallels between today and then.

Open-air theatre is a must in summer, starting at the end of July in the Circus Quarter with a wedding ceremony by Accademia Dimitri. The students will make you laugh and cry with theatre, dance, music and movement.

This will be followed by the Theatre Spectacle, which will take place on the Landiwiese, Werfthalle and Rote Fabrik for 18 days. With open-air performances, freely accessible installations and artistic interventions on the grounds, as well as the festival's own restaurants and bars. A true spectacle of the theatre landscape.

And to round off the open-air season, it's worth visiting the Trittligass open-air music theatre; the third instalment of the triology, a new play paired with the old and the tried and tested.
