Dance tips for February

This month, you can look forward to dance, music and powerful stories.

Unfamiliar perspectives

In Verkehrt by the Swedish dance company Turbo & Co., familiar patterns, roles and movement logic are questioned. Through playfulness and focused physical work, the dancers explore how people find their bearings in group contexts and within their own selves, and where they repeatedly find themselves ‘upside down’. A piece about community, identity and the surprising paths of body language.

Pure ecstasy

The event Ecstatic Dance with Cello invites you to a special dance and sound experience. Musician Sascha Kid combines pulsating electronic rhythms with the warm tones of his cello. After a group warm-up, the music guides participants through free forms of expression, opening up space for individual movement and playful connection. All without judgement, but with plenty of fun and joy in dancing together.

Women with a history (and stories)

Les Femmes Fatales tells the stories of four influential Swiss women – Anna Göldi, Marie Heim-Vögtlin, Meret Oppenheimer and Iris von Roten – through dance, text and music. All fought in their own way for freedom, equality and self-determination. The Dance Company ONE combines historical perspectives with contemporary dance, creating humorous yet profound dialogues between the past and the present.

Myth and Movement

In the piece LAIOS , the dance collective PR•SMA transforms the urban space into a stage and brings to life the mythological story of Laius, Jocasta and the enigmatic Sphinx. Through poetic language and physical presence, the piece explores questions of responsibility, fate and human freedom. An intense work that blends myth, movement and existential inquiry.
