The theatre highlights in May

The theatre programme in May is young and fresh. With many plays by young people and lots of interesting things for young and old alike.

Theatre by and for young people

The four youth clubs of the Schauspielhaus Zürich are once again showing their productions this May, spread over all four weekends of the month. Club 3 begins with "ich han zwar immer gseit ich hasse star wars" with greetings from outer space. Club 4 follows with "1x Sinn", then "dream again reality" by Club 1 and Club 2 closes with "Paradies Paradas".

Valbella

Free after "Lord of the Flies", AG Theater Rämibühl presents the ultimate Zurich-style disaster story. For the first time, the students of the Rämibühl grammar schools will be performing on the stage at Neumarkt. You can expect a chalet in the mountains, a surprise party, a group of privileged Zurich youths and a snowstorm complete with avalanche and a cut-off path to the valley.

Chlötz

From 16 to 22 May, the LAB (Junges Theater Zürich) will be performing at the Gessnerallee and confronting the myth of money. The stage is transformed into a casino, the game becomes a choreography.

35 kilos of hope

Inspired by the song "Freiheit" by Marie Aggiato, Anna Gavalda wrote the story of David, which is now being brought to the stage by Theater Kanton Zürich. "I'm not very tall, but I weigh 35 kilos of hope," writes David in his letter to the school management, facing the challenges of the new school and his grandfather's illness.

Choice or duty?

And what did young people actually do in the Middle Ages? Adults and children can explore this question during the scenic tour "Choice or duty?" at the Bubikon Knight's House.

Szenische Führung - Wahl oder Pflicht?

Wie eigenverantwortlich lebten junge Menschen im Mittelalter? Wie war ihr Verhältnis zu Familie, Arbeit, Recht und Pflicht?

The Parents - Teenage Edition

In conclusion, not a play about young people, but about young people. Or perhaps it's more about the parents who bite their teeth out on their own teenagers. The hormone cocktail of puberty meets the hormone cocktail of the menopause.
