My first time ... at the Maxim Theatre
In this series, authors visit places and look for experiences they have not yet experienced - and report on their "premiere".
She can’t do much without music. Laura needs it to get her going in the morning, to help her concentrate at work, to bring her stress levels down, to distract her from unpleasant things, or just to sing and dance along with when she’s happy. Laura’s mother thinks it’s strange, because it means there’s always music playing, but Laura doesn’t understand why people just don’t understand. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Whom would you rather never have met?
No one. Every encounter has worth because I wouldn’t otherwise be the person I am today
What do you fear more; the judgement of a friend or the judgment of enemies?
I’m not proud of it, but I really fear being judged by my loved ones. I often interpret their criticism as “That means XY doesn’t like me anymore,” which isn’t true. I’m working on it…
When did you stop believing you could become wiser – or do you still believe it? Give your age. 21
Are you convinced by your own self-criticism?
Yes, unfortunately. I often get in my own way.
Are you someone that loves?
Yes, I am generally someone that likes to love others. It doesn’t matter if it’s a person, animal, or hobby!
Do you sometimes envy other living creatures who seem to be able to live without hope (for example, fish in an aquarium)?
Yes, sadly. Even though I try very hard to be more content with mindfulness exercises and mantras for gratitude. There’s just a big helping of melancholy in me, and I constantly worry about the state of the world or my own state, and I can’t turn my thoughts elsewhere.
Have you humorous feelings when you are alone?
Sometimes I have moments like that, but I do wish I could entertain myself more often
What do you need humor to get through?
My romantic relationships. It wouldn’t have even happened if not for humor.
Is home to you something with a flag?
No.
